Chapel Coconuts Hotel and Resort (チャペルココナッツ)

The 'Tresure' Ship ElevatorChapel Coconuts is on the expensive side, but it's a "Hotel and Resort" (!) offering a high quality experience that is very popular with young Japanese couples.  There are several fetish rooms and the lobby area alone is worth checking out.  The Chapel chain hotels are located throughout Japan and are highly entertaining places to stay.

Outside:
A large neon sign with animation announces the location of this huge hotel.  There is a garage on the first floor and the second floor has a lobby as well as a large outdoor park with a kitschy jungle theme.  There are several sets of stairs taking you up to the second floor.  Chapel Coconuts has lots of alcoves and spaces equipped with games and ways to amuse couples who are waiting for a vacancy.  It is not uncommon to find this place packed at night, especially on the weekends.

Lobby:
Chapel Coconuts is sort of a cross between love hotel and theme park.  Subsequently, there is no pretense of privacy here.  Couples wait in line at one of two computer touch screens that display available rooms and prices for rest or stay.  The cheaper (A and B types) are significantly less than the high end (C type) kinky rooms that many entertainment options, fetishes, luxury, etc.  Rooms are in high demand so select quickly before someone at the other computer nabs your room.  The computer screen shows pictures of the rooms that are available.  Once you have selected your room, insert cash or credit card into the machine below the screen to pay.  The screen will tell you which floor and room name you're looking for.

The Chapel Coconuts courtyardThe lobby includes a counter display of the food you can order in your room.  There is also an alcove to play pachinko games.  The lobby is large and overstimulating between the jungle sound effects and various animated decorations.  It can be hard to identify the touch screens were you pick and pay for your room.  Just look for a line and you should be set.

There is an elevator located by the food display that says 'Treasure Ship.'  It is an elevator built for two that takes you to one of many floors named for a tropical island.  The hotel is quite large and even the hallways are decorated with the jungle theme.  It may take awhile to find your room using the information you received on the computer screen.  When you find it, the door will be unlocked.

Inside:
The room at Chapel Coconuts was gorgeous.  There was a large flat screen TV on a rotating stand, a pachinko machine that could be hidden inside a closet, a rack of clothing (costumes AND pajamas!) and a wonderfully large bathroom.  When we entered, the TV showed a pleasant ocean scene with dolphins in the sunset and ocean sounds filled the air.  The bed was queen-sized with a large, fluffy comforter.  The bathroom was separate from the toilet room and included a traditional shower area, a huge above ground tub with a bottle of bubble bath, a TV built into the wall, and an enclosed rain shower with a bench.  The bubble bath was fun- we ran the jacuzzi and made a massive bubble mess all over the shower area, then discovered that there were colored lights that glowed in the tub.  The towels and other complimentary in-room amenities (shampoo, face wash, etc.) were all very high quality.  The TV included the option to watch free movies (in English!), two Sega game controllers, and karaoke.  There was also surround sound, complete with several music options.

Room decoration. While the TV had a variety of pornographic channels, and there were several catalogs of room-service items from food to alcohol and fetish toys, the room felt more like a luxury 5-star hotel than a traditional love hotel.  The in-room entertainment was easy to figure out with lots of English.

Leaving:
Shortly before our departure time of 10 a.m., we received a phone call asking about in-room purchases.  We said there were none and left the room on time.  We followed exit signs down the hall to a different elevator than the 'Treasure Ship.'  The elevator deposited us back in the lobby and we took a set of stairs down to the garage to leave the hotel.
